Description of the AFITA 2010 Conference

Many critical businesses are strongly dependent to high quality information which is objective, accurate, current, relevant, comprehensible and usable. These are some of the most important qualities that quality resources strive to achieve in making information useful for planning, controlling and decision-making. In particular, agricultural based production systems and commerce in this global and competitive era must utilize and manage quality information in order to win the competition in many aspects of their business processes.

The role of communication and information technology (ICT) is therefore becoming more and more crucial for agriculture to enable the best managerial and operational scenarios. This conference seeks to find a set of excellent or promising ICT-based solutions for improving agricultural-based production systems and commerce to achieve their objectives.
