Abstract

Background: This study investigates the perceptions and experiences of importers and exporters within the animal products industry regarding quarantine measures. Quarantine measures play a critical role in ensuring both food safety and facilitating international trade, thus maintaining public health and economic stability.

Objectives: The aim of this research is to understand how quarantine practices influence the dynamics of animal product trade, with the goal of providing insights to policymakers and practitioners to optimize regulatory frameworks and operational protocols.

Methods: The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. The 100 respondents examine stakeholders' familiarity with regulations, their perceptions of quarantine effectiveness, and the impacts on business operations and compliance attitudes. They recommended improvements including streamlined procedures, enhanced communication channels, and standardized international protocols. Overall, stakeholders underscored the importance of these enhancements for improving trade facilitation and maintaining food safety standards in global markets. These findings contribute to understanding the complexities of quarantine management in international trade contexts.

Results: Through descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and thematic analysis of interview data, the study enhances understanding of how quarantine practices impact the dynamics of animal product trade.

Conclusion: The study concludes that optimizing regulatory frameworks and operational protocols can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of quarantine measures, supporting the sustainable international trade of animal products while considering food safety and economic stability.
