The development of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) plays a critical role in improving rural welfare, yet many face sustainability issues due to limited managerial capacity and underutilized local resources. This paper explores the implementation of the One Village One CEO (OVOC) program, a collaborative initiative between IPB University and PT Maruwai Coal, in four BUMDes in Murung Raya Regency, Central Kalimantan. Utilizing qualitative methods—including field observation, focus group discussions, and participatory outreach—the study highlights the success of BUMDes Batu Batuah in Batu Tojah Village in revitalizing its patchouli-based business ecosystem. The OVOC program delivers tailored capacity-building interventions, from agricultural training and standardization of post-harvest handling to digital branding and community empowerment. Through integrated field projects, student-led innovations improved patchouli productivity and oil quality, addressed irrigation issues, and introduced organic fertilization techniques. These initiatives not only enhanced the business resilience of BUMDes but also fostered inclusive participation from local communities. Findings emphasize the importance of structured mentorship, stakeholder engagement, and contextualized innovation in transforming rural bioresource management. The study underscores the OVOC model as a replicable approach for driving sustainable socio-economic transformation in tropical rural settings.
