Abstract

The high rate of land conversion in the Dramaga area reflects the influence of the presence of IPB University on the growth dynamics of the local area. This significant spatial transformation is important to be studied in consideration of future regional planning. The aim of this study is to analyze the development of the IPB University campus ring road area in order that it can be a reference in the formulation of regional policies. The research methodology encompasses a temporal analysis of land cover change using the land cover map overlay technique, analysis of the level of regional development using the Scalogram method analysis, and classification of regional typology using non-hierarchical cluster analysis. The results showed that there was a conversion from agricultural land to non-agricultural land centered around the IPB University campus area, as well as an increase in the Village Development Index (VDI) in the 2010-2020 period. From the clustering results, the campus ring area can be divided into three types of functional areas, namely nodal areas, internal areas, and external areas. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that there has been intensive regional development around the IPB University campus so that it is important to have spatial management that is adaptive to these dynamics.
