The Digital Archive and Museum Management Unit of the Information Management and Digital Transformation Agency at IPB University (LMITD IPB) will host the International Conference on Heritage, Information, and Digital Transformation (HIDIT) in October 2026. Held in a hybrid format, this premier conference gathers academics, researchers, digital practitioners, and policymakers to foster dialogue at the intersection of cultural heritage, information systems, and digital transformation. Under this year’s theme, “Integrating Heritage, Information, and Social Resilience: Innovations for Nature, Memory, and Communities in Society 5.0,” the event operates within a human-centered paradigm that integrates cyberspace and physical space to balance technological progress with urgent social and environmental solutions.

Moving beyond purely techno-centric narratives, HIDIT 2026 addresses critical global challenges, such as climate change, rapid urbanization, and the rise of artificial intelligence, by exploring how digital innovation can be rooted in local wisdom and participatory governance. The conference facilitates vital, transdisciplinary discussions on securing cognitive sovereignty, establishing ethical AI frameworks, and empowering Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAM) as active hubs for sustainability. Ultimately, HIDIT 2026 serves as a global platform for critical reflection, examining how digital transformation can be leveraged not merely for operational efficiency, but for long-term ecological flourishing and cultural resilience.

HIDIT 2026 carries concern to facilitate the integration of cultural heritage, local knowledge, and digital technology. Upon this foundation, we are aiming to foster interdisciplinary research collaboration across the humanities, technology, and policy sectors. Furthermore, HIDIT 2026 features four parallel sessions, each addressing a key aspect of the main theme. We invite papers and presentation on, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAM) for Knowledge and Information
  • Heritage, Memory, and Cultural Wisdom
  • Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence
  • Resilient Societies for Nature and Biodiversity

HIDIT 2026 will be held in hybrid, directly at IPB University Darmaga Campus on October 23-24, 2026. The accepted papers will be published in three publication outputs including reputable journal (Jurnal Pengelolaan Sumberdaya Alam dan Lingkungan), reference book published by IPB Press, and conference proceeding.
