Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggots are larvae that can convert organic waste into an alternative source of nutri for livestock because they contain a lot of fat and protein. Therefore, BSF maggot has potential as alternative feed ingredient. However, many farmers have not used maggot as one of the animal feed ingredients. This study was conducted to determine farmers'
knowledge about feed ingredients derived from BSF maggot, the level of importance of animal feed quality attributes and important factors in use of BSF maggot feed. Data collected through survey methods and in-depth interviews with 100 farmers in the Jabodetabek area. We performed descriptive analysis by using SPSS version 22. The results showed that the majority of farmers had knowledge about the content of BSF maggot-based feed. Farmers gave the most important rating to palatability as an attribute of animal feed quality. In addition, most farmers rated sustainable availability, good product quality, and consumer satisfaction as important
factors in use of maggot BSF products as feed ingredients. This study underscores potential of BSF maggot as alternative feed ingredient considering farmer knowledge, feed quality and other important factors such as availability and consumer satisfaction
