Abstract

This title will be presented on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 13.15-13.25 GMT+7.

The aim of this research was to present an overview regarding various studies that have been carried out in the field of seafood traceability. Seafood traceability is crucial to strengthening sustainable fisheries management, deterring illegal practices, verifying environmental and social obligation claims, and permitting society to aid local, sustainable seafood producers. In this study, literatures from a 22-year period were retrieved based on the Scopus database, and quantitative analysis was carried out using the bibliometrix package in R Studio. A total of 428 papers from research results in the field of seafood traceability have been indexed from 2021 to 2023 in Scopus. Publications in the field of seafood traceability had an annual growth rate of 4.06% per year and entered an accelerated upward trend phase since 2008 with an average of 25 publications per year. Seafood (sea food), animal, and food safety are the main keywords that often appear in research in this area.  We identified the top three authors (Armani A, Espineira M, and Vieites JM), the three organizations that made the largest contributions (University of Pisa, Faculdade de Ciencias da Universidade de Lisboa, and Ocean University of China), and the top three productive countries (Italy, China, and Spain). Wong EH-K (2008) is the most influential and widely cited research paper on research in the field of seafood traceability.
