Tegal is a regency in Central Java which has a wealth of good fishery resources. There are many waters that have abundant resource potential, one of which is Larangan waters. The fishing gear commonly used for fishing activities are payang and purse seine. As time went on, various problems began to emerge, one of which was the catch which was erratic and tended to decrease. Knowing this, we need fishing aids, which are easy to apply and of course can increase fishermen's catches, namely portable FADs. The purpose of this study was to compare composition, calculate productivity, and add up the income from catches with portable FADs and without portable FADs. The method used is experimental fishing. The total fish caught in this study amounted to 11 species, namely barracuda, Dorab wolf-herring, Sin croaker, Indian mackerel, Bigeye scad, Fringescale sardinella, Narrow-barred Spanish mackerel, Indian anchovy, Kawakawa, squid and shrimp, with a total weight of 18.231.2 kg in the catch. with portable FADs, and 16.743.9 kg in catches without portable FADs. The average productivity value for catching with portable FADs was 1.139,45 kg/trip, higher than the catch without FADs, which was 1.046,49 kg/trip. Fishermen's income from selling catches with portable FADs is higher than selling catches without portable FADs.
