THE EFFECT OF GIVING HERBAL SOLUTION IN DRINKING WATER ON BODY WEIGHT GAIN, LIVE WEIGHT, FEED CONVERSION AND EVISCERATED CARCASS LOCAL CHICKENS

Abstract
Indonesia has many types of herbs including ginger, turmeric and garlic. These herbs are commonly used as medicine because of their many health benefits. Herbal solutions containing water, ginger juice, turmeric juice and garlic juice in equal weight ratios. Ginger, turmeric and garlic contain bioactive substances that work in the livestock's body as antioxidants, antimicrobials and help on feed digestion in small intestine, so they can improve livestock performance. The research aims to determine the effect of giving herbal solutions in drinking water on body weight gain, live weight, feed conversion, eviscerated carcass of local chickens. 80 DOC local chickens were used in this study which were divided into 4 treatments and 5 replications. There are 4 treatments, namely P0= drinking water; P1= drinking water + 0,5% herbal solution; P2= drinking water +1% herbal solution dan P3= drinking water+ 1,5% herbal solution. Chickens were reared from 1 day to 70 days old. Data were analyzed with Anova and Duncan Test. The results showed that the addition 1% herbal solution on drinking water gave the best body weight gain, live weight, feed conversion, eviscerated carcass of local chickens
