The government is addressing nutritional challenges among elementary school children through school-based nutrition education. This community empowerment initiative aimed to enhance the behavior (knowledge and attitudes) of grade 1-6 elementary school teachers regarding the consumption of diverse, nutritionally balanced foods based on local ingredients, as demonstrated through the P5 Module (Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila). The program was conducted from April 20 to July 12, 2024, and included observations, focus group discussions (FGDs), workshops, and feedback sessions at SD Plus Rahmat Kediri. Participants included 18 FGD participants and 31 workshop attendees from the Rahmat Educational Foundation. Results showed the P5 co-curricular program presents a valuable opportunity to integrate Balanced Nutrition into learning. Approximately 90% of FGD participants demonstrated moderate to high levels of nutritional knowledge (75.6) and behavior (84.7). The team developed communication materials, including three posters and a book titled Integrasi Gizi Seimbang dalam Pembelajaran di Satuan Pendidikan Sekolah Dasar. Four press releases and two scientific articles were also produced. Teachers designed 12 project modules with themes like "Sustainable Lifestyle" and "Build Your Mind and Body." Despite these achievements, challenges remain, particularly in improving numeracy skills related to Balanced Nutrition. Innovative, experiential learning approaches, such as teaching portion management, are needed to address this gap. Nutrition education will be integrated into the school curriculum at SD Plus Rahmat in the upcoming academic year. As a follow-up commitment, the initiative produced the “Modul P5 Gizi Seimbang pada Pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar.”
