Abstract

A healing garden is a nature therapy facility for users. It presents a natural atmosphere so users can interact with nature in the surrounding area to make them comfortable, relaxed, optimistic, and enthusiastic. The Anas Bin Malik Farm, located at the AL-Muhajirin Islamic Boarding School, Campus 5, Purwakarta Regency, has the potential to be developed as a therapeutic horticultural landscape in the form of a healing garden. This community service activity aims to design a healing garden in the Anas Bin Malik Farm, Al-Muhajirin Islamic Boarding School, Campus 5. The method of this community service activity consists of seven stages, including (1) preparation, (2) inventory, (3) analysis and synthesis, (4) concept preparation, (5) design recommendations, (6) implementation, and (7) dissemination. The basic concept of the Islamic boarding school garden site is a healing garden that integrates horticultural therapy practices to increase spiritual activity and social interaction. This healing garden is developed into a relaxation garden, a toga garden, and an edible garden. The vegetation planted is edible flower plants, medicinal plants, aromatic plants, and fruit plants. This healing garden is expected to support students' academic, spiritual, and recreational activities in murojaah and extracurricular and relaxing activities. This community service activity has been carried out in line with the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Starting from the arrangement of edible gardens, medicinal plant gardens and families (SDGs 2), arrangement of relaxation gardens for passive to semi-active activities (SDGs 3), arrangement of murojaah areas and outdoor classes for agricultural cultivation practices (SDGs 4), and arrangement of the landscape of this Islamic boarding school while strengthening the socio-resilience of the community (SDGs 11), and partnerships with the Al-Muhajirin Foundation and the Aquair Indonesia team (SDGs 17).
