Abstract

Mulyaharja Tourism Village has succeeded in attracting the attention of local, domestic, and even foreign tourists. Communication skills, including foreign languages, are needed as an effort to provide excellent service. It is also necessary to fill its Instagram with quality content. This community service aimed to improve knowledge and skills in communicating in English, implementing the concept of service excellence, and creating promotional content. The method was conducted with a participatory approach. Practical observation was also conducted to measure the ability of trainees. Through the delivery of materials, practices, roleplays and games, trainees learned to communicate in simple English to improve their courage and confidence. Effective communication, using good verbal and non-verbal communication was learned in service excellence training. Social media content production training includes video capture and editing techniques, as well as buying ads. Trainees learned to produce professional promotional videos, even with simple tools like smartphones. Training in media buying means the use of  digital advertising platforms, audience targeting, and how to refine and analyze the effectiveness of promotions. This training course resulted in an increase in trainees’ knowledge and skills by more than 40%, as measured by the results of the pre and post-tests. This increase shows that this community service is beneficial to the community and helps prepare them to face the challenges and needs of the tourism industry.
