This community engagement program aimed to improve livelihoods in Mulyaharja Village, Bogor, by integrating aquaculture potential mapping and sustainable yard cultivation practices. School of Vocational Studies, the initiative addressed challenges such as limited aquaculture infrastructure, low agricultural productivity, disease management issues, and insufficient knowledge of modern farming techniques. In aquaculture, activities included water quality assessments, soil analyses, focus group discussions, and training on sustainable practices such as biofloc and aquaponics. These efforts identified potential systems like tilapia biofloc cultivation and catfish farming in earthen and concrete ponds. Issues like low dissolved oxygen and bacterial infections (e.g., Aeromonas hydrophila) were mitigated through enhanced aeration systems and natural remedies, including betel leaf extract. For sustainable yard cultivation, the program worked with the Ciharashas Women Farmers Group (KWT), offering training in fruit plants in pots (tabulampot), medicinal plants (TOGA), and hydroponic vertical farming systems. Greenhouse repairs, hands-on training, and mentoring enabled participants to adopt innovative practices and improve product quality. Key outcomes included increased aquaculture and agricultural productivity, enhanced household incomes, and strengthened community skills. Deliverables included a draft aquaculture zoning plan, training materials, media articles, and practical video tutorials. Improved packaging, promotional strategies, and new distribution channels enhanced market access for agricultural products, empowering local farmers. This interdisciplinary initiative highlights the role of integrated strategies in fostering sustainable development, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through economic empowerment, resource efficiency, and community well-being in Mulyaharja Village.
