Abstract

Strengthening family quality is a strategic step in facing Indonesia's development challenges, particularly the issue of stunting, which affects the quality of human resources. The Sekolah Keluarga Berkualitas (SKB) programme was organised to improve the knowledge, attitudes, and skills of facilitators as agents of change at the village level. The activity used a pre-post interval study design with participatory learning methods through interactive lectures, discussions, case studies, and simulated practices through Training of Trainers (TOT). Knowledge was measured using pre-post tests, and facilitators passed on the material to the families they mentored as a form of field application. The results showed an increase in knowledge in all the material provided. In the material on family resilience, there was a clear increase in understanding after the education, as seen from the consistent increase in final scores compared to before the training. In the material on infant characteristics and optimal growth and development environments, the facilitators' understanding also increased, although not statistically significant, indicating that they already had sufficient prior knowledge. The highest increase was seen in the material on the application of asah, asih, asuh (nurturing, loving, caring), with perfect final scores. Overall, the implementation of the TOT SKB was effective in strengthening facilitators' capacity in relation to family resilience, parenting, and child growth and development stimulation, thereby potentially improving the quality of parenting practices at the family level.
