Abstract

Adolescents are an essential asset in community development, yet they remain vulnerable to social pressures that may trigger negative behaviors such as verbal violence and poor communication skills. The Dosen Pulang Kampung program in Babakan Village, Dramaga Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, was implemented as an effort to strengthen youth capacity by enhancing mental health, religiosity, communication ethics, and counseling skills to support the realization of a Family-Friendly Village (KRK). The program was conducted in four sessions involving 26–36 adolescents aged 11–18 years and village representatives, using interactive lectures, discussions, and ice-breaking activities, with materials covering mental health, religiosity, communication ethics, verbal violence, counselor personality and skills, and the development of a youth counseling corner. Evaluation through pre-test and post-test was carried out to measure the program’s effectiveness. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge, awareness, and understanding regarding the importance of maintaining mental health, strengthening religious values, practicing respectful communication, mastering basic peer counseling skills, and planning a youth storytelling corner. Participants responded very positively, as reflected in their active involvement in discussions, sharing experiences, and supporting the establishment of a youth counseling corner. Overall, the program proved effective as an educational strategy for strengthening youth capacity in fostering family well-being and developing a Family-Friendly Village.
