Abstract

The provision of accurate and up-to-date agricultural production data at all times has long been a necessity for policymakers and many other interested parties. However, this need for data has not been optimally met at all levels, from the village to the national level. In the food crop sector, for example, this situation has major implications for the stability of supply and prices at the producer and consumer levels. To develop a model for providing agricultural production data, Cipeuteuy Village in Kabandungan District, Sukabumi Regency, was selected as the study location. Cipeuteuy Village is a horticultural production center that supplies the main markets in Jakarta, Bogor, and Tangerang. The objective of this assistance is to develop a webGIS-based agricultural production data provision model that displays who (the names of farmers), what (the commodities grown), when (the projected harvest time), how much (the projected harvest volume), and where (the location of the cultivated land). The approach used is spatial analysis and participatory mapping. The series of activities included socialization, training, assistance, focus group discussions, participatory mapping, utilization of website-based technology (WebGIS), and evaluation of implementation for program sustainability. The added value of this assistance is that the parties updating the agricultural production data are the farmers themselves, so that the data contained in the WebGIS is continuously updated. This assistance provides training in drone operation along with training in a digital data storage system (WebGIS) that functions as an updated and open-access repository of information on village agricultural commodities. Through this innovation in the development of an agricultural commodity information system, the data can be accessed and utilized by farmers, agricultural businesses, stakeholders, and the general public to support agricultural development for the welfare of the Cipeuteuy Village community.
