Introduksi Inovasi Bubu Lipat Bertingkat Multi-Spesies dan Booster Umpan untuk Pemanfaatan Krustasea, Ikan Demersal dan Moluska

Abstract

Multi-species of 2-deck collapsible traps and bait boosters are innovative fishing traps and effective fish collection devices introduced to fishermen from KUB Berkah Sagara and other fishermen as program participants. The activity was carried out in Loji Village and the IPB Palabuhanratu Marine Field Station. The activity was carried out using FGD methods, interviews, technical training and fishing trials for crustaceans, demersal fish and mollusks. Fishermen from KUB Berkah Sagara partners and other fishermen who attended the FGD/socialization and training ranged in age from 20-59 years with formal education levels ranging from elementary school to vocational school/high school. Program participants ultimately learned and understood the innovation of multi-species of 2-deck collapsible traps and bait boosters. The results of fishing trials during 10 trips proved that multi-species of 2-deck collapsible traps and bait boosters provided catches of crustaceans consisting of swimming crab (Portunus sanguinolentus), crucifix crab (Charybdis feriata), brown crab (Cancer pagurus), and snow crab (Chionoecetes opilio); Demersal fish consisting of orange-spotted grouper (Epinephelus coioides), red snapper (Lutjanus erythropterus), and sharksucker (Remora remora); Sea snail mollusks (Baltimore spirata). The production margin of crustacean catches in multi-species of 2-deck collapsible traps using bait boosters compared to multi-species of 2-deck collapsible traps without bait boosters, both for the number of individuals and weight, provided an increase of over 300%. Multi-species of 2-deck collapsible traps obtained crustacean and mollusk catches in the lower trap section of more than 85%.
