The “Dosen Pulang Kampung” Community Service Program is a strategic initiative of IPB University aimed at strengthening 21st-century competencies among Generation Z, particularly through the enhancement of Communication, Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Collaboration (4C) skills. This program was implemented at SMA Negeri 2 Kota Tegal by engaging student council members, class leaders, and representative students from other schools in the Tegal area. The implementation methods included assessing partner needs, mapping issues related to 4C proficiency, delivering thematic training through interactive seminars, case studies, and collaborative practice sessions, as well as conducting comprehensive evaluations of participant outcomes. Materials were delivered by IPB University academics focusing on innovative leadership, strategic communication and personal branding, creativity and innovation culture, entrepreneurial character, and the strengthening of critical thinking in decision-making processes. The results demonstrate a significant increase in participants’ understanding and awareness regarding the urgency of mastering 4C competencies to navigate digital socio-economic dynamics. Participants showed higher motivation for self-development and entrepreneurial interest, along with more productive collaborative interactions between students and speakers. Furthermore, this program strengthened partnerships between IPB University and participating schools and contributed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Quality Education (SDG 4) and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17). Overall, the program highlights the essential role of higher education institutions in supporting youth capacity development through systematic and sustainable educational approaches.
