Pemanfaatan Tanaman Herbal Menjadi Minuman Fungsional Antidiabetes dan Madu untuk Perawatan Luka Diabetes pada Anggota Prolanis

Kretek District, Wonosobo Regency, has a high number of senior citizens and a high prevalence of degenerative disease among them. The main challenge in the small city area is limited access to medication and limited knowledge of traditional medicine for the treatment of diabetes and wound management. Two innovations were introduced: training in making SIJAKA herbal drinks (consisting of red betel leaf, ginger, and cinnamon) and the use of honey in diabetic wound management. Methods of intervention include filling out the consent form, data collection by questionnaire, and the health education seminar. Next, the participants joined the workshop in making antidiabetic herbal drinks SIJAKA dan were introduced to the use of honey to heal diabetic ulcers. Results showed that the participants were very enthusiastic and interested in making their own herbal drinks at home. In conclusion, the program was effective in increasing the knowledge of people in using herbs and honey in the management of diabetes. Furthermore, the program also has potential as a model to be applied in another village in increasing the health resiliency and local economy.
