Indonesia faces major challenges in developing a healthy, intelligent, and productive generation toward Golden Indonesia 2045, with national stunting prevalence still 19.8% in 2024. Improving early-life nutrition through locally sourced, nutrient-rich foods such as tempe, a high-protein plant-based product, offers a practical solution. A community empowerment program in Cipalaha Village, Garut, involved mothers with young children (0–5 years), pregnant women, and Posyandu and PKK cadres. Activities included nutritional assessments, stunting education, tempe nugget and soy extract production training, and evaluations through parental questionnaires, interviews, and organoleptic tests. Findings showed 24% of toddlers were short or very short, and all children above five years were underweight, indicating chronic energy deficiency. Parental education, occupation, and income strongly influenced stunting risk. The program effectively improved participants’ knowledge, skills, and motivation to produce and utilize tempe-based foods as affordable, nutrient-dense protein sources with high acceptability. These results highlight the role of local food innovation and community empowerment in supporting child growth and Indonesia’s 2045 development goals.
