Petir Village, the oldest and largest village in Dramaga District, Bogor Regency, West Java, spans 448.25 hectares, accounting for approximately 18.5% of the district’s total area. The village has significant potential for freshwater fish farming; however, one of the major challenges in developing aquaculture is the availability of affordable feed. In response to this issue, the community service program “Independent Feed Production for Sustainable Fisheries” was implemented in Petir Village. The program aims to provide locally produced, cost-effective feed to support sustainable aquaculture practices, enhance fish productivity, and strengthen the economic resilience of local fish farmers. The initiative highlights the importance of community-based innovation in addressing practical constraints in small-scale aquaculture and promoting long-term sustainability in rural fisheries.
