The effect of lemuru fish oil and moringa leaf flour in feed on the internal organ, immune organ and digestive organ of broiler chicken

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the effect of adding Lemuru fish oil and Moringa leaf flour in feed on the internal organs of broiler chicken. Two hundred broiler chickens were reared from DOC up to 35 days old. The treatments applied were T0= diet contained 2% palm oil without moringa leaf flour; T1= diet contained 2% lemuru fish oil without moringa leaf flour; T2= diet contained 2% lemuru fish oil+1% moringa leaf flour; T3= diet contained 2% lemuru fish oil+2% moringa leaf flour; T4= diet contained 2% lemuru fish oil+moringa leaf flour 3%. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), and if there were significant differences, further test was conducted using the Tukey test. The results showed that the treatments did not affect (P>0.05) the percentage of internal organ weight and immune organ weight of broiler chicken. The addition of Lemuru fish oil and Moringa leaf flour in feed affected the percentage of ileum and cecum weight of broiler chicken. This study concluded that by adding Lemuru fish oil and Moringa leaf flour in broiler feed does not have negative effect internal organs and was beneficial for the digestive organs of broiler chickens
