This study aims to analyze the influence of socio-cultural values and external support on the effectiveness of the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) approach in increasing the empowerment of young farmers in Indonesia. The research method used a quantitative approach through surveys and interviews. The respondents were 152 young farmers receiving Competitive Grants (71 women and 81 men), obtained using the Slovin formula with a 7% margin of error. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the help of SmartPLS version 3.9.2. The results showed that socio-cultural values (β = 0.349; t = 4.713; p = 0.000) and external support (β = 0.404; t = 5.939; p = 0.000) significantly influenced the effectiveness of the GESI approach. Multigroup analysis based on gender showed that among male respondents, the influence of socio-cultural values was more dominant (β = 0.409), while among female respondents, external support had a stronger influence (β = 0.444). These findings emphasize the importance of inclusive socio-cultural transformation and gender-responsive external support to strengthen the empowerment of young farmers, both female and male.
