Abstract

In contrast to a single robot, deploying a team of autonomous robots bring several advantages including robustness to robots' failure and the ability to perform complex task which is challenging to be accomplished by a single robot. The main technical challenge is to design control algorithm which allows the robots to collaborate with each other in accomplishing the task without the need of a control centre. This talk will highlight two applications of deploying a team of robots, namely persistent environmental monitoring using drones swarm, and flexible formation of multi-robot systems in agriculture.
