Fiber plays a significant role in regulating blood cholesterol levels. Adequate fiber intake can help maintain an average blood lipid profile to prevent the risk of heart disease. An analysis was conducted to synthesize the effect of fiber on lipid profiles using effect-size hedges’g. Seven articles analyzed using Comprehensive Meta-analysis were obtained through article searches on Scopus. The results of the analysis showed that the effect-size value of fiber intake on total cholesterol (TC), LDL, and triglycerides (TG) levels were -2.93 (95% CI -3.93, to -1.93); - 2.85 (95% CI -3.77 to -1.92), -1.72 (95% CI -2.42 to -1.03), respectively. The result indicates that fiber consumption significantly reduces TC, LDL, and TG levels. At HDL levels, the effect-size value was 1.33 (95% CI 0.58 to 2.08), so fiber consumption significantly increases HDL levels. The results of the evaluation of publication bias with Kendall's analysis showed a p-value <0.001, so there was no publication bias. The study results showed a p-value < 0.001, so fiber intake prevents dyslipidemia, an initial bridge to various non-communicable diseases.
