Abstract

The availability of feed is one of the problems that occurs in Indonesia, the availability of feed still fluctuates depending on the season, management is still carried out in a traditional way, so that the nutritional needs of local sheep are still not met. The livestock group in Tegalwaru village, Ciampea, Bogor Regency are local sheep breeders who still carry out traditional feed management. This has an impact on low sheep productivity, resulting in not maximal economic profits, even causing losses to farmers. To overcome this, food innovation is needed that has a long shelf life so that feed availability is maintained throughout the season. Supplement wafers are an innovative form of durable feed presented in wafer form for sheep. High energy content of vegetable fat. Prill fat comes from the Crude Palm Oil (CPO) product which is rich in palmitic acid for local sheep. This innovation is designed to meet the nutritional needs of sheep. Community service activities through Dospulkam have been carried out by sampling the nutritional adequacy of sheep at Ciampea people's farms, producing supplement wafers at the Feed Industry Laboratory, and assisting farmers and training accompanied by the practice of providing supplement wafers.  The farmer assistance training provided material, the results of which were through a pretest-post test comparison method which resulted in 90% of breeders having a "good" understanding after being given the material. Farmer assistance by providing 300 grams of supplement wafers was also able to increase PBBH to 188.5 ± 33.60 grams per head per day. Apart from that, breeders are also given direct training on feed processing in the Feed Manufacturing and Industry Lab. The conclusion of this activity is that the empowerment of the Sejahtera Tani Farm livestock group is able to increase the ability and understanding of the sheep livestock group through training and assistance in this activity.
