Abstract

The high rate of child marriage in Bogor Regency, particularly in Dramaga Subdistrict, has become a serious concern due to its impact on social welfare, including stunting, divorce, and unemployment. Sukawening and Sinarsari villages report high cases of marriage dispensation alongside an unemployment rate of 8.47%. To address this issue, the Premarital School program was designed to enhance adolescents' capacity to prepare for a healthy and responsible marriage while preventing early marriage. The program aims to improve adolescents' knowledge, attitudes, and skills related to marriage planning, reproductive health, parenting, financial management, and entrepreneurship. A non-formal learning method was employed through a structured curriculum consisting of 10 sessions over five meetings. The program involved 72 adolescents aged 13–18 years and utilized interactive methods such as lectures, simulations, and practical exercises. The results indicated significant improvement in participants’ understanding, particularly in family financial management and family welfare indicators. However, reproductive health and entrepreneurship topics require improved delivery approaches for more effective outcomes. Additionally, the program produced peer trainers who are ready to disseminate education within their communities. The Premarital School program has proven to contribute to increasing adolescents’ readiness for marriage and fostering quality family development. The sustainability of this program is expected to support the prevention of child marriage and improve community welfare.
