Abstract

The campus-based Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) mentoring program was implemented in response to the high demand for capacity building for micro-entrepreneurs facing challenges related to legality, product standardization and business management. This program aims to develop an integrated mentoring model focused on strengthening technical capacity, regulatory compliance, and professional practices. The methods used included initial needs mapping, development of mentoring modules, five offline and online training sessions by a team of experts from universities, government agencies, and industry practitioners, and field mentoring to implement improvements in business processes. The program's results indicate successful mentoring of 200 MSMEs, with 100 receiving assistance in obtaining Nomor Induk Berusaha (NIB) and improving packaging quality to meet standards, and 75 receiving support for halal certification. Improvements were evident in MSMEs' understanding of legal procedures, implementation of more consistent production practices, and readiness to expand market access. The findings of this program confirm that the integrated mentoring model is capable of increasing MSME competitiveness while supporting the strengthening of the micro-enterprise ecosystem on campus.
