Abstract

The family is the smallest unit in society that plays an important role as a national asset and the main foundation for human development. The family is not only seen as a target, but also as an actor or subject of development that plays a strategic role in shaping quality human resources. However, various challenges still need to be overcome in realising a prosperous family, especially those related to the readiness of family members' resources, the quality of child care, family harmony, and family resilience in facing social and economic dynamics. Based on these conditions, this community service activity aims to increase the capacity of Family Resilience Facilitators to support the implementation of government functions in the field of women's empowerment and child protection, while strengthening the role of higher education institutions in the development of quality and productive families in Bekasi Regency. The activity was conducted face-to-face through coaching, training, and direct assistance to facilitators at the village, neighbourhood, and community group levels, involving the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Agency, the SAPA Bekasi Task Force, and the KEJAR PERMATA and Sekolah Keluarga Berkualitas innovation programmes. The material provided covered 21 topics from the West Java Women's School and 6 topics from the Sekolah Keluarga Berkualitas, delivered in a contextual manner according to community needs. The results of the activity showed an increase in the knowledge, skills and understanding of facilitators in carrying out their educational roles related to strengthening family functions, child care and the prevention of domestic violence, although the implementation of the activity still faced constraints in terms of budget and time. The conclusion of this activity shows that the development of Family Resilience Facilitators through an educational and participatory approach is an effective strategy in supporting the realisation of prosperous families and sustainable community development.
